Soul Clay Studios

Soul Clay Studios has been in Gerringong since April 2021 and is the first of its kind pottery studio space in the Illawarra and South Coast! Owned and operated by husband and wife duo, Zeynep and Marcus Testoni, the 150 square metre, fully equipped, purpose designed pottery studio is THE best place to try your hand at pottery whether you’re a curious novice or experienced potter.

The studio runs weekly daytime and evening classes as well as one-off pottery experiences. Friday Night Clay Date (nibbles, pottery, BYO wine) and Saturday Soul Sessions run once a fortnight, perfect for absolute beginners to have fun. All classes are taught by experienced teachers who are passionate about pottery. Private group bookings are available for special hen's party, birthday, or corporate group.

What began as a hobby in Zeynep's laundry in 2016, grew to leaving her day job to run pottery classes out of her garage in Gerroa in August 2017. The pandemic of 2020/2021, and the increasing popularity of her classes, created the necessity to move out of the garage into larger premises.

The move to larger premises has meant Soul Clay Studios has created increased opportunities to support local artists and provide employment for locals in a creative industry. The studio’s handmade ceramics shop is another first for the South Coast and Illawarra regions. The only place where you can buy directly from over thirteen different ceramic artists. Pottery made in the studio and sold in the studio!
